a day in my life (boring! real!)

i'm personally tired of reading or hearing about people with the Ultimate Perfect Morning Routine blah blah, but i'm also kind of tired of hearing about the wonderful lives of rich people who don't work real jobs and don't do anything a regular person does.

so here's my extremely boring, real life day in the week of me:

6am-8am
it really depends on when i actually decide to get out of bed. my alarm goes off at 6am and i usually snooze it at least once for 30 mins. if i have to shower and make lunch, i will get up at 6am. if i work from home (only two days a week), i don't get up 'til about 7:45am.

so, i get up, usually at least around 7am. i feed all three cats and the dog. i make myself mostly presentable to go to work (brushing of teeth, application of deodorant, etc). if my hair is slightly messy, i just leave it down until i get to the office, then i put it up lol. if it's really messy, it goes up immediately. i make lunch or i grab whatever is in the fridge. i pack all my snacks for the day (being pregnant means eating like, all day, but not very much food at a time). if i have time to spare, i make myself a matcha latte with lavender syrup. it's matcha from whole foods, i am not that bougie.

8am-4pm
i work. when i get to work, i unload my lunch bag, turn on my work computer, check my work phone, and then i do the daily crossword on new yorker. i used to do connections, but i really fell off from the practice and found a lot of the categories... infuriating.

i also have to chug 32 ounces of red raspberry leaf tea every day now. it’s pretty gross! i steep it with one (1) cinnamon stick, then add honey & lemon juice for taste. tolerable!

if it's monday, i'm actually pretty busy 'til about noon. then i just scroll on various websites until someone needs something from me.

if it's tuesday, i am not busy unless clients decide to actually walk in. otherwise, pretty lowkey day. i have a sort of email job, but it requires me 'supervising' three people, customer service, and doing administrative tasks.

if it's wednesday, even more lowkey than tuesday. i do mostly nothing these days.

thursday and friday i get to work from home and i REALLY don't do work on those days. a phone call at all feels hostile. like i’m literally at home, how dare you?

4pm-9pm
i get home. it's middle of june, so it's just hot all the time. i am miserable, as our house doesn't have central AC. my husband either makes us a healthy dinner or we get some junk food. we do not use doordash lol.

my husband feeds the zoo dinner.

if it's tuesday through saturday, we watch the new episode of jeopardy on peacock. i love jeopardy. then we either watch a little of whatever tv show my husband is currently into, or (way less these days) a movie. i'm not really interested in tv shows at all, so i usually just leave the living room after jeopardy or i scroll on my phone until i go to bed. i'm too hot and sweaty and tired all the time to do anything else these days, it sucks!

by 9pm, i have to take my supplement regiment before i can actually lay down. this includes prenatal vitamins, vitamin D, iron, unisom for sleep, a tincture to help with labor (this one is new and remains to be seen if it actually does anything lol), evening primrose oil, and various other pills to ensure i am healthy and ready to give birth.

i brush my teeth. i lay down in bed. my cats immediately surround me. i read on my kindle until i am falling asleep with it in my hands. then i put the kindle away and sleep... sort of.

these nights, i sleep from about 9pm to 12am. then 12am to 3am, then 3am to 5am. then i toss and turn until my alarm goes off at 6am. and then the day starts all over again. my weekends include running errands or taking multiple naps, because everything is genuinely so exhausting all the time.

so there you have it, friends. truly an enviable existence for yours truly right now!! i cannot wait to not be pregnant anymore and maybe actually have some more energy to at least go on a walk sometimes.
