rebuilding in animal crossing
earlier this year i was getting way back into animal crossing: new horizons. my husband had bought it and there was that big update, so suddenly i was super into it again.
i even ordered like three amiibo cards for villagers i really wanted, including my new favorite, shino. on the day that amiibo card arrived in the mail, i turned on my switch and discovered it had bricked. i had used it just that morning with no issues whatsoever, and now? now it wouldn't do anything at all. i tried every single thing i could find online to no avail. i was screwed. everything was gone. from ALL of my games. my husband didn't really understand why this was so devastating to me, since he's not really a gamer, but i was distraught.
after another two weeks of no change in the switch, i finally decided to buy a new one. fuck it, i got a switch 2. why not? it feels much more luxurious than the first switch, that's for sure.
then came the unwieldy task of trying to rebuild everything on a new island. i picked a map i thought i would love, but i have found it challenging to work around where the river mouths are, as there is limited to space on the far left or far right of the river.
here's my island before i terraformed anything.
i started making a village section all in the back. so time consuming to move everyone back and forth lol. i also started making my raised plaza area.
got the stores up on the raised plaza now, and finally moving my own house!
ramps galore! and bridges!
new pathways and the campsite. the big 'empty' space beside the tailor shop is my fruit tree orchard.

and here's my last update for now. finally have probably all of my main villagers, but i'm still on the fence about keeping julian. for horses i really prefer roscoe!
i'm also still trying to get some specific items to finish decorating outside, like the iron bench that insists on eluding me??? i'm still not sure what to do with these areas on the side, but whatever. maybe i'll just redo those areas and the back.
i also cannot get my stupid rocks to spawn in the far back left corner like i want them to. i don't know what i'm doing wrong, but not a single one will ever spawn in the general area!!
