way too much tv

being a mother is so weird. taking care of a newborn is really fucking hard and time consuming. for the first seven weeks of my baby's life, he would literally just scream bloody murder from 7pm to 1am. every single night...

i spend hours of my day just holding a bottle for this little guy. because of that, i've ended up watching way more tv than i ever have in my life. as in, tv shows. i'm a movie girlie thru and thru, but with taking care of an infant, it's a lot harder to watch a movie and keep your attention on it for the entire run time. if you miss parts of a movie, you're missing a lot. but if you miss parts of a tv show? who cares! there's like twenty more hours of it.

with that being said, i've now officially rewatched the entirety of true blood (i actually hadn't seen the last two seasons and boy, those were abysmal), watched the first ten episodes of vampire diaries and quit (boring, ugly, etc), watched heated rivalry to see what the hype was about (not worth the hype and mostly porn), then watched the hetero version of hockey romance show off campus (just fine), watched the pitt (mid, sorry!), suffered thru the new awful teen romdram crew girl, and now i've just finished rewatching insecure (still good, but hits less hard on rewatch). i'm gonna need more junk to put on in the background sooner than later.

my husband's show choices have been rewatching schitt's creek, rewatching friends for the millionth time (he's obsessed), and now rewatching abott elementary. i've seen large portions of all of them, but the only one i've never seen all of is friends. it just doesn't really do much for me lol. we tried to watch the sopranos together, which has some really funny moments, but we both kind of lost interest during season 1.

why in the world are there so many tv shows? this is literally insane to me. looking up the most popular tv shows right now, and i've never even heard of half of these. who is watching all of this?! maybe new parents like me... solidarity.
